Forget Carbon Offsets. The Planet Needs Carbon Removal Credits
Climate change is an urgent global crisis that requires immediate action. While carbon offsets have been a common solution to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, they may not be enough to combat the scale of the problem. Instead, we should focus on carbon removal credits.
Unlike offsets, which aim to neutralize emissions by investing in projects that reduce carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, carbon removal credits involve actively removing carbon from the atmosphere through technologies such as direct air capture and carbon sequestration. This approach has the potential to have a greater impact on reducing overall carbon levels in the atmosphere.
It is time to shift our focus from simply offsetting emissions to actively removing carbon from the atmosphere. By investing in carbon removal credits, we can make a more significant and lasting impact on combatting climate change and protecting our planet for future generations.
