The family of Harry Dunn, a young man who was killed in a road accident involving the wife of a US diplomat, have been left feeling re-traumatised after receiving their son’s personal items that were returned to them.

The items, which included Harry’s backpack, clothes, and other personal belongings, were returned to the family after a lengthy legal battle to have them returned. However, the family has expressed their distress at having to relive the pain of losing their son all over again.

Harry Dunn’s death sparked an international controversy when it was revealed that the woman involved in the accident, Anne Sacoolas, was able to claim diplomatic immunity and return to the US. Despite efforts from both the UK and Dunn’s family to have Sacoolas extradited to face justice, she remains in the US.

The return of Harry Dunn’s belongings has only served to reopen old wounds for the family, who continue to seek justice for their son’s death. They have called for changes to diplomatic immunity laws to prevent similar tragedies from occurring in the future.
