Tearful Jason Kelce retires after 13 NFL seasons
After 13 seasons in the NFL, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce has announced his retirement from professional football. In an emotional press conference today, Kelce thanked his teammates, coaches, and fans for their support throughout his career.
“I have given everything I have to this game, and it’s time for me to step away,” Kelce said, tears streaming down his face. “I am grateful for the memories, the friendships, and the lessons I have learned along the way.”
Kelce, a six-time Pro Bowler and two-time First Team All-Pro, was known for his tenacity, leadership, and passion for the game. He was a key player in the Eagles’ Super Bowl LII victory in 2018 and will be remembered as one of the greatest centers in NFL history.
As Kelce begins this new chapter in his life, he expressed his gratitude for the support of his family and the city of Philadelphia. “I will always be an Eagle at heart,” Kelce said. “Thank you, Philadelphia, for embracing me and allowing me to live out my dream.”
