Amy Johnson: Plane fragment sold to Kent Battle of Britain Museum

A fragment of a plane flown by pioneering female aviator Amy Johnson has been sold to the Kent Battle of Britain Museum. The fragment was recovered from the site of Johnson’s crash in the Thames Estuary in 1941.

Amy Johnson was a trailblazing pilot who set many aviation records in the 1930s. She was the first woman to fly solo from England to Australia, among other accomplishments.

The fragment, which is believed to be from Johnson’s plane, will be put on display at the museum in honor of her legacy. Visitors will be able to see a piece of history and learn about the brave women who made significant contributions to aviation.
