Outrage at UEA Graduation Ticket Prices

UEA students ‘outraged’ over £20 graduation tickets

Recent announcements regarding the cost of graduation tickets at the University of East Anglia (UEA) has sparked outrage among students. Many students have taken to social media to express their disappointment and frustration over the £20 fee for attending their own graduation ceremony.

One student wrote on Twitter, “I can’t believe UEA is charging us £20 just to attend our own graduation. It’s supposed to be a celebration of our hard work, not a money-making scheme.” Another student added, “I’ve already spent thousands on tuition fees, accommodation, and textbooks. Now they want more money for a piece of paper and a handshake? It’s ridiculous.”

The university has defended the cost of the tickets, stating that the fee covers the administrative costs of organizing the graduation ceremony. They also mentioned that the fee is in line with other universities in the UK.

Despite the university’s explanation, many students feel that the cost is unjustified and are calling for a reconsideration of the pricing policy. Some have even started a petition to lower the cost of graduation tickets, gathering hundreds of signatures in just a few days.

As the debate continues, it remains to be seen whether UEA will make any changes to their graduation ticket pricing. In the meantime, students are left feeling frustrated and let down by the university’s decision.
