Peseiro leaves Nigeria role as contract ends
Jose Peseiro has officially left his role as the head coach of the Nigerian national football team as his contract has come to an end.
Peseiro, who took over the team in 2020, has decided not to renew his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation, citing personal reasons for his departure.
During his time in charge, Peseiro led the Super Eagles to a number of impressive victories and helped them qualify for major tournaments. However, the team faced some challenges under his tenure, including a disappointing early exit from the African Cup of Nations.
The Nigerian Football Federation is now on the lookout for a new head coach to lead the team into the next phase of their development.
We thank Jose Peseiro for his contributions to Nigerian football and wish him the best in his future endeavors.
