Starmer apologises to Rochdale after Galloway win
Labour leader Keir Starmer has issued an apology to the residents of Rochdale following the shock victory of George Galloway in the recent by-election.
Galloway, a controversial figure known for his outspoken views and confrontational style, won the by-election by a significant margin, causing a major upset for the Labour party.
In his apology, Starmer acknowledged the disappointment felt by the people of Rochdale and pledged to work harder to regain their trust and support.
“I want to apologise to the people of Rochdale for failing to connect with their concerns and aspirations. We will learn from this defeat and redouble our efforts to serve the community better,” said Starmer in a statement.
The by-election result has sparked debate within the Labour party about its direction and leadership, with many calling for a rethink of its strategy and messaging in light of Galloway’s victory.
Despite the setback, Starmer remains committed to rebuilding the party and reaching out to communities across the country to secure their support in future elections.
